Course Overview

Overview: You will learn about current research into how young children learn, with assessment by reflective practice. Also covered will be health and safety and staff training concepts. You’ll become part of our community of childcare practitioners through our sector links and a team of people who guide and support each other through the course - and beyond. The top up programme helps you to become responsible for other’s practice within the childcare setting as well as your own. The BA (Hons) Young Children’s Learning and Development is invaluable professional development which leads onto a range of leadership roles including Children’s Centre Manager, Early Years Development Coordinator, Day Nursery Manager and Foundation Stage Coordinator. It will speed your progression within your chosen career - and can lead to Early Years Teacher Status with further study. Entry Requirements: A suitable L5 qualification, Maths and English GCSE, a voluntary or employed placement and a satisfactory DBS. The IELTS Score for all entrants is 6.5 UCAS CODE: X300 Modules Dissertation (40 credits) Health, Safety and Wellbeing (20 credits) Professional Dimensions (20 credits) Quality Provision (20 credits) Contemporary Approaches to Learning and Development (20 credits) Assessment: Takes on a variety of formats such as poster presentations, written assessments, presentations and observations. Fees: £7500 Validating Partner: This programme is currently subject to validation with the University of Hull Contact Hours: The FT programme is nine hours of contact time per week, you are also expected to complete self-directed study on a weekly basis to extend your subject knowledge.
