HU1 Riverside is Hull College’s premier training restaurant, serving delicious food and providing excellent service.

All dishes are freshly prepared and served by our students under the guidance of industry professionals and course leaders. Our menu is regularly changed by the head chef and students to include seasonal ingredients and to offer something new to tempt the taste buds. Located within the Horncastle Building on the Hull College campus, HU1 Riverside provides value for money food without compromising on the quality in a stylish setting close to the city centre.

Vegetarian options are available on each menu and our team at HU1 Riverside will endeavour to meet any other dietary needs. Should you have an allergy or any other special dietary requirements please let us know at time of booking.

The Childcare Centre is open to the general public and the children of students and staff, for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We are open from 8am to 5.45pm, Monday to Friday during term time.

We aim to work in partnership with parents and so offer an 'open door' policy - parents are always welcome throughout the day and may telephone as often as they wish. All our staff value parents' knowledge and understanding of their child and appreciate all the information that parents wish to share that will support and positively influence their child's development. 

Staff are fully qualified to at least a Level 3 qualification, with all staff holding qualifications in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding & Child Protection, and Level 2 Food Safety.  

Free Places for Students

To support students with children, free places are available for Hull College students. This is subject to status. For further information or to enquire about free placements contact the Centre on (01482) 223646.  Funded government places are also available for children aged 2, 3, and 4. 

How to Enrol

If you would like to enrol your child with us please contact the Centre on (01482) 223646. You will then be asked to complete and return the registration form.

As well as being an exceptional training facility for our students, our modern salons and treatment rooms are open to the public and offer treatments such as manicures, haircuts, colouring, facials, waxing and modern men’s barbering.

Please note:

Children under 5 years of age are not allowed in the Hair and Beauty department at any time, this includes the Salon QG Reception.
