The course is offered part time over three years and is suitable for those students working in an early years environment who wish to develop their knowledge and skills alongisde their employment. Entry Requirements: A suitable L3 qualification, GCSE (or equivalent) English, voluntary or employed placement and a satisfactory DBS. The IELTS Score for all entrants is 6.5 Level 4 Modules: Play Based Learning (20 credits) Professional Practice: Academic Skills (20 credits) Child Development (20 credits) Observation & Physical Well-Being in the Early Years (20 credits) Collaborative Practice (20 credits) Supporting Children with Special Needs (20 credits) Level 5 Modules Professional Practice: Research (20 credits) Implementing Research (20 credits) Early Years Practitioner (20 credits) Enterprise and Employability (20 credits) Leadership and Management (20 credits) Teaching and learning will consist of taught sessions, workshops, seminars, workplace visits and tutorials. In addition to this, each student will be expected to undertake a considerable amount of self-directed study. Students will be assessed in a variety of ways including essays, workplace visits, observations, portfolios, progress files, presentations and reflective accounts. Assessment: Takes on a variety of formats such as poster presentations, written assessments, presentations and observations. Fees: £5000 per each year of study, the programme is delivered over three years.
