Course Overview

Overview: The BTEC Higher National qualifications in Construction and the Built Environment (Construction Pathway) is aimed at students wanting to continue their education through applied learning. Higher Nationals provide a wide-ranging study of the construction and the built environment sector and are designed for students who wish to pursue or advance their career in construction and the built environment. In addition to the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin the study of the construction and the built environment sector, BTEC Higher Nationals give students experience of the breadth and depth of the sector that will prepare them for further study or training. The BTEC Higher National qualifications in Construction and the Built Environment (Construction) is aimed at students looking to develop their career into management, higher technical and professional roles across the construction sector as a whole. Candidates are generally working in technician roles and this course supports student’s development towards positions such as site or project Managers. Entry Requirements: 64 UCAS points are required for entry to this programme, however we do also consider application from non-traditional students so please get in touch if you do not have the required UCAS points. Modules/Units: Unit 1: Individual project (Pearson-set) Unit 2: Construction technology* Unit 3: Science & materials* Unit 5 Legal & Statutory Responsibilities in Construction Unit 7: Surveying, measuring & setting out* *TBC Validating Partner: Pearson Fees: For the PT programme, fees would be £5000 for the first 12 months (80 credits studied), and then £2500 for the remaning 18 months (40 credits of study).
