Course Overview

The Hull College pre Supported Internship Programme is available for young people aged 16-24, who have faced difficulties progressing into work due to a disability or learning difficulty. The course provides the opportunity to gain skills and experience within a real work setting, whilst developing knowledge and understanding of work skills at college. With the support of a Job Coach, you will complete a pre internship with a local employer for a minimum of 60 hours in your chosen area, such as leisure, gardening, animal care, retail, catering, health and social care and more. We offer specialised job coaching, with a personalised programme tailored to suit your individual learning needs and career aspirations. Through a range of support activities, we will help to build your confidence and develop your communication skills, to give you all the necessary tools to enhance your employability. We will offer guidance for seeking employment through our career hub and develop your independence through travel training and coaching in the workplace. Alongside this you will complete a City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Employability. The pre internship helps you develop the confidence, skills and self-assurance needed to move forward into the world of work.
