Level 2 & 3 Nail and Beauty students at Hull College supported the Pink Pamper Day for local charity HER Breast Friends at The Village Hotel on Saturday.
They provided more than 70 treatments for women who are either currently undergoing treatment for or have survived breast cancer in the Hull and East Riding area.
Pink Pamper Day is HER Breast Friends signature event and saw all attendees enjoy a free day of relaxing beauty and complementary therapies, inspiring workshops for mind, body and spirit, as well as the use of the hotel’s swimming pool facilities.
Taking the time to get involved in the event was a great opportunity for our new students to showcase their skills and, more importantly, contribute to what was a fantastic event that made all in attendance feel extra special.
Reflecting on her students’ efforts and contribution, course tutor Kerry Wray said: “It was great for our students to support such an amazing event. To have the chance to give back to what is such a worthy cause by helping those currently going through and recovering from treatment was an honour for everyone involved.
“Going forward, this will be a weekly session and provide our talented Nail and Beauty students with the opportunity to gain work experience in a salon environment, which can only aid their learning, progress and development.”
A selection of comments received from those who enjoyed treatments by our students on the day include…
“Lauren was lovely and me a gorgeous manicure and relaxing facial – I can go to lunch now feeling a million dollars! Thank you.”
“Lovely, friendly and polite therapist. My facial was wonderful – very gentle and relaxing. I feel wonderful!”
“Pedicure by Sarah was lovely, relaxing & very friendly.”
