National Careers Week 2022

March 7, 2022

It’s never too early to start thinking about your future career!

National Careers Week 2022 (Monday 7th – Saturday 12th March) is a celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK.

The aim is to provide a focus for careers guidance activity at an important stage in the academic calendar to help support young people leaving education.

This year's theme is 'Empowering Positive Change through Careers Education' and throughout the week National Careers Week is hosting a Virtual Careers Fair, which can be accessed by visiting www.ncw2022.co.uk. No registration is required to join in and no data is collected whatsoever - it's just tons of opportunities for students to explore.

Now in its 11th year, National Careers Week is the perfect platform to advise and inspire the next generation as they enter the world of work. National Careers Week encourages education providers to bring together students, local employers and advisers through careers events and activities.

As a college, we hope we can offer some great careers advice and guidance to young people. All our students are entitled to high quality independent careers guidance to help assist them in making and implementing informed educational and occupational choices.

We have a number of internal and external careers advisors who students can speak to confidentially regarding their career-specific needs and to get help with many career-related enquiries such as:

• Career-related information and how to get there
• Information of other training providers and agencies who can assist students to reach their potential and future aspirations
• Interview skills
• Class talks
• CV writing skills
• UCAS sessions

Our team work closely with staff, students, external agencies and employers across the college to promote careers and host a number of events and resources to raise aspirations with students.
