Students Enjoy Safer Roads Humber Workshop

More than 100 Sports, ESOL, Uniformed Services and Policing students attended an informative and engaging session with Safer Roads Humber at the Steve Prescott Centre this week.

The performance education session, called 'Braking Point', is designed to promote safe driving among young people aged 16-19. It included a mini play simulating a night out with friends and how serious consequences can arise quickly with bad decisions, along with a workshop looking at statistics relating to young people & safety on the roads.

The presentation was excellent for the students to observe, with everyone also able to participate in a group discussion on the theme of Road Safety Week afterwards. Feedback from all students was hugely positive and provided all in attendance with vital insight into the main causes and numbers of incidents involving 16-19 year-olds on the roads.

Safer Roads Humber is the regional road safety partnership and works towards reducing crashes and casualties on the region's roads. It is made up of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Highways England, Hull City Council, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, Humberside Police, North East Lincolnshire Council and North Lincolnshire Council.
