Course Overview
Overview: The BEng (Hons) Engineering Technology (Top-up) helps you to develop the knowledge gathered in your L5 programme in Engineering, getting you up to the standard that employers are demanding when selecting candidates for professional engineering management roles in the region and beyond. Our Top-up programme teaches management techniques, research and project management skills, operations management and much more. As part of the course, you’ll be working on a live brief in association with a leading firm in the engineering industry, giving you first-hand experience of problem solving in a real work environment.
Engineering graduates are in high demand and professional opportunities exist in many different fields such as construction, textiles, defence, renewable energy, food, aerospace, medicine, radio, TV and motor sport. There are also many kinds of engineering disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electronic and materials engineering and the type of work can vary from research and design to consulting and manufacturing.
Entry Requirements: A suitable L5 qualification in a subject specific course, such as a HND or a Foundation Degree.
The IELTS Score for all entrants is 6.5

Advanced Engineering Materials (20 credits)
Computer Aided Design (20 credits)
Industrial Control Systems (20 credits)
Operations Management (20 credits)
Engineering Project (40 credits)
Assessment: Takes on a variety of formats such as Laboratory Reports, written assessments, presentations and examinations.
Fees: £5000 for the first year of study (80 credits studied), £2500 for the next section of the programme when completing the Engineering Project (40 credits).
Validating Partner: This programme is currently validated by the University of Hull
Contact Hours: The PT programme is six hours of contact time per week, you are also expected to complete self-directed study on a weekly basis to extend your subject knowledge.
