Course Overview
Overview: For teachers and instructors with industry work experience and a minimum Level 3 qualification in their subject specialism, this course leads to a professional teaching qualification for work in Further Education colleges, adult education, higher education and a wide range of other training and educational settings outside the schools sector.
Designed for teachers and instructors already working in the sector, the focus of this course is on practical teaching. Trainees will attend one tutor-led group session a week where input will be organised to support their work on scheduled modules. Trainees will also need to be practising teachers with a minimum of 100 hours of teaching hours (50 hours per year) during the course. Voluntary teaching may be acceptable in some circumstances.
Entry Requirements: Trainees will normally have GCSE Maths and English at grades 4 or above (A*-C), the equivalent, or working towards this.
