Course Overview
Overview: The in-service PGCE is the teacher training course for those already working as a teacher, or with a suitable long term teaching placement. Examining all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment, including designing and delivering lessons, Hull College will support you as you complete the 100 hours classroom teaching built into your course.
Bringing the theory to life with practical experience helps you to really understand what you can expect from your teaching career.
Applicants to the PGCE will need a degree, GCSEs in Maths and English as well as relevant and some experience in teaching. If you want to work as a professional teacher in the post 16 Lifelong Learning sector, this is the course for you.
Entry Requirements: A good relevant undergraduate degree or an equivalent qualification, along with a GCSE in Maths and English.
Modules: Research Informed Teaching, Learning and Assessment, Becoming a Subject Specialist Teacher, Being a Subject Specialist Teacher, Policy and Professional Issues.
