Course Overview
Dance at Hull College helps you to develop your technical and performance skills. You will have the opportunity to study Ballet, Tap, Jazz and contemporary technique classes in order to help develop your physical skills to a high standard.
There will also be opportunities for you to take part in workshops with guest lecturers, helping you to develop your technical and creative skills further. There will be opportunities to extend your creative and compositional dance skills through devising, creating and performing a collection of dance pieces, these will be performed in the college’s own 200 seat ‘Riverside Theatre’. You will also develop your knowledge and create work for video and social media platforms.
The Level 3 Dance course is part of Hull Colleges Performing Arts Studio, this presents you with the possibility of choosing to develop skills within acting and singing as part of the elective section of the study programme.
The dance department at Hull College have strong links with Hull City Arts, Hull Dance and Absolutely Cultured, this presents students with the opportunity to take part in external and internal workshops as well as work experience opportunities.
