Course Overview
Overview: The FD in Photography is an innovative approach to studying in the vibrant Hull City Centre. The 2+1 model allows you to study in an industry centred approach that helps you develop the skills to work as a professional photographer whilst using professional facilities. The programme encourages and values imaginative and individual approaches to all forms of image capture whilst exploring current and emerging technologies.
Studying Photography in Hull encourages and values imaginative and individual approaches to all forms of image capture. Students are encouraged to engage with multiple subjects in a variety of contexts in a diverse approach to lens media. From commercial to fine art, experimentation is encouraged emboldening learners to formulate their own unique visual style.
Students gain professional skills and a knowledge of the creative industries through guest lectures, photographic contests, group exhibitions, and student focused publications resulting in an individualised portfolio to jumpstart a career in photography.

Entry Requirements: 64 UCAS points, and we will also consider applications from mature students with industry experience or other accredited prior learning (APL).

Assessment
We will always assess students through a variety of methods and learning styles, this includes assessments such as written submissions, portfolio-based practice and presentations.

Contact Hours
Timetabled sessions will be eight hours a week, there will be expected self-directed study and an additional commitment to workshop/studio practice which will equate to a total of 15 hours per week.
