Overview: The FD Live Events Production gives you the skills to ensure performances and productions are fully immersive experiences for any audience by being the creative bodies behind the scenes.
Overview
A vocational exploration of the live events, TV and film world; Hull College’s broad course gives students the space to try all aspects of live events production with sound, light, film-editing, scenic design and live event/stage management all part of our comprehensive programme.
Students in the past have had successful placements with organisations such as the Freedom Festival, UK Rock Challenge, Humber Street Sesh and the BBC as well as local theatres such as Hull Truck and Hull New Theatre.
By the end of the course you’ll have gained the technical, organisational, creative and professional skills you need to work successfully within the technical events industry.You’ll learn a broad range of disciplines within the live and technical events sector including: lighting design and operation, stage set design and construction, live sound design and operation, sound theory and acoustics, electrical principles, equipment maintenance and repair.
Projects across the programme will be industry-facing and will offer live client briefs in order to enhance professional skills development. We will encourage students to network and gain a portfolio of professional work whilst studying at the college. Previous students have been extremely successful in gaining employment within the sector on completion and during our programmes and many employers see our courses as extremely reputable when seeking technical support for live events locally and nationally.
Entry Requirements
Is 64 UCAS points, and we will also consider applications from mature students with industry experience or other accredited prior learning (APL).

Assessment
We will always assess students through a variety of methods and learning styles, this includes assessments such as live work and professional practices, written submissions and presentations.

Contact Hours
Timetabled sessions will be eight hours a week, there will be expected self-directed study and an additional commitment to workshop/studio practice which will equate to a total of 15 hours per week.
