Course Overview
Throughout the eight units of the academic year there are four projects in which learners will be gaining many different media production skills through to their final major project.
Unit eight is more self-initiated than the preceding units and it is pitched to the high end of level two, in order for learners to be able to grow through the year and achieve their target grades and above.
This unit combines much of the skills that they have learned, enabling learners to showcase these developing skillsets through a creative media production that they have individually proposed, then designed and delivered as a cohesive team.
In conjunction with the weekly VLE online learning and tutorials, the pre-production, production and post production practices, team building, work experience settings, input from higher education guest lecturers, NCOP, apprenticeship and industry practitioners; this course is designed to equip learners with a well-rounded knowledge and a wide variety of multimedia skills.
The course starts with the basics, gradually disseminating learners with an array of knowledge, practical and technical accomplishment.
In conclusion, the Level 2 Digital Media Production course intends to equip participants with the skills of a media producer and an industry and professional awareness coupled with a development of their academic, personal proficiency and confidence.
Successful learners will possess the potential to progress on to entry-level employment, an apprenticeship or Level 3 study, hopefully with the intent of progression to the Level 3 Digital Media Production course.
