Course Overview
The Access to HE Humanities and Social Science course is made up of 2 pathways:
Pathway 1
On this option you will study the following subjects:
Law
History
Sociology/Psychology
Academic Skills
This pathway attracts students who wish to study Criminology, Law, History, English, Psychology, Politics, Philosophy, Teaching & Education or any other social sciences or humanities-based subject.
Pathway 2
On this option you will study the following subjects:
Psychology
Sociology
Social Work
Academic Skills
This pathway attracts students who wish to study Social Work, Criminology, English, Psychology, Early Years and childhood studies, Teaching & Education or any other social sciences or humanities-based subject.
Assessment methods
Students are assessed by a variety of methods, these typically include essays, reports, presentations and time controlled assignments.
Dates and Times
This depends on the pathway but students can expect to be in class 12 hours a week, normally spread over 2-3 days.
