Course Overview

Whether you want to be a lighting or sound operator, a stage or set designer, tour the world with a huge band or manage the main stage at Glastonbury, this course can help you develop the skills to follow your dream. The 2 year Level 3 Live Events Production Study Programme teaches you a range of technical skills including live sound and lighting operation, stage management, stage and set building, live sound and lighting operation. You will have the opportunity to really test your skills and demonstrate your knowledge on the course. From music festivals, theatre shows, artistic festivals, television and film and many more, this course teaches you the skills to develop your potential within the live events industry. Within the first year you will work as a live production operative working on live shows as part of the creative team to bring these shows to life. In the second year you will study design and event management skills on live performances. You will gain valuable experience on educational trips to industry conventions and to see professional shows. Within the 2 years you will also gain hands-on experience during live shows and working with external live events and companies such as The BBC, Freedom Festival, UK Rock Challenge, Humber Street Sesh Festival, Hull Truck Theatre, Hull New Theatre plus many more as a professional technician. This course gives you live working experience as well as developing industry contacts and giving you opportunity to gain paid employment whilst you study.
